Everything You Want is on the Other Side of Fear

Working with fearful people is the hardest task we can come against. We will always feel like we are pushing and pulling to get people to where we feel destined to be when we work with fearful people. People who are bound by fear do not move forward.
I remember when I first started out in network marketing and I was told to tell everyone I knew about our great opportunity and products. I was so afraid of being ridiculed or judged, that I made excuse after excuse of why I couldn’t do it. They suggested I post about it on facebook, but I was even more afraid to do that. My upline knew that I was afraid, but it didn’t matter what they told me, I had to come to terms on my own and realize that I needed to step against fear and start talking to people.
We don’t want to lose our destiny because we are trying to stay comfortable now. We need to realize the feeling of fear is never going to go away in our lives. We are not cowards if we feel fear, we are only cowardly when we give into that feeling. We may not be able to control feeling fear, but we can still move forward afraid.
I knew that in order to be successful I needed to step out afraid. I can remember making my first phone call to talk to a friend about the opportunity. I was so nervous. I stuttered and said ‘um’ a million times. My friend didn’t ridicule me, but she did make it clear that she was not interested and was upset that I hadn’t called her in a long time and was disappointed I only called to try to sell to her. I felt defeated. I knew that like any job, it was going to be hard at first, but with practice and new skills, I would be good at network marketing.
We need to understand that, whenever we make any kind of forward progress, fear is going to come and take a step against us and try to put us back into our hole. But if we want to live abundantly, we need to step out of that comfort zone and confront fear.
I realized my fear came from worrying about what people would think about me being a network marketer. I knew that my family had always frowned down upon network marketers and I didn’t want to be looked down on. So I started researching the industry of network marketing and building my belief in the industry. Then I started making facebook posts about what a great industry it was. Before long I was proud to be a network marketer. I confronted fear.
We can be pitiful or powerful, the choice is always ours. We need to choose to be bold and courageous. This will bring us peace. This will bring us joy. This will bring us freedom.
I hope this spoke to you as much as it spoke to me. If you are looking for more information about network marketing you can find them at www.mickybixby.com/blog
