When is it time to leave your network marketing company?

I want to clarify before you read this article, I am not an advocate for jumping from company to company. But like with any business sometimes you have to use your head and not listen to the hype. Sometimes you need to know it’s okay, when it’s time to walk away.

It almost feels weird to type out those words. It’s drilled into your brain as soon as you start with a company, ‘Never switch companies!’ If you work hard enough at your business you will be successful. Leaving is what quitters do. They convince you why their company is the best and they have the best pay plan. You are told your company has integrity and you are most likely to succeed with them. You believe this. You build a loyalty to them and the thought of leaving feels like the worst betrayal. But sometimes it is the right time and you need to be able to walk away if that times come.

So when do you know that it’s time to leave?

1. If you are feeling extreme pressure all the time and avoiding your team, that’s not healthy. You need to consider what it’s doing to your mental and emotional health. It’s supposed to be about helping others, not chasing the almighty dollar.

2. If you have been there for over a year and haven’t been able to form any working relationships with your upline. That means you don’t have the support you need to be successful.

3. If you are feeling like a failure and beating yourself up for not succeeding even though you are doing everything right, it might be a sign it’s time to move. Analyze, ask for help, do whatever you can to rectify this situation. If nothing works after a couple years, it might be time to move on.

4. If you haven’t made even half of what you’ve spent in over 2 years, you need to consider if there might be a better company for you. Again, make sure there is nothing you are doing wrong.

5. If you are not feeling passionate about the product or the company after knowing all there is to know about it, you should definitely leave the company.

If you can relate to at least 2 of these 5 statements you are probably in the wrong company. Does that mean you aren’t meant to be a network marketer? NO. It just means you aren’t where you fit in. There is a company for everyone.

I am not suggesting to quit as soon as the going gets rough. You have to try and sometimes that means coming out of your comfort zone. Network Marketing is NOT a high pressure, stressful career. There is work to be done, it isn’t living the easy street, but it can be very rewarding. Have fun with your business that is the joy of network marketing.
